Jerry Kill To Step Away......For Now

When Jerry Kill was annouced as the new head football coach for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, there was a lot of excitement. He was coming in here leaving behind a program that he worked his magic on. And the Gophers, well, they needed some of that magic.

Fans knew that he had the staff and the skills to turn around a struggling Gopher team, but I don't think we knew the struggle Coach Kill was going through.

Sure, everyone knew of his fight with epilepsy, but it was never a concern. Then again, it never showed it's ugly head at the rate it is now.

Many have wondered if maybe the bright lights of the B1G have been too much for the coach. Others believe he just needs to do exactly what he has done, and take a step back for a little while.

Truth is, no one knows what's right for Coach Kill, except Coach Kill.

"I would hate to say what it could be that is causing it.", said Mike Milton. "I'm just a fan."

I believe that is how every single fan should feel. Sure, it's easy to get angry and say that we can't have a coach that is going through this time and time again; and that might be true. However, if you have spent any amount of time around Coach Kill, his staff and his players, you know that they want this fight to end and have football be the main focus, more than anyone out there.

"As a staff we are all happy he's made this decision to do this, " Coach Claeys said. That right there shows, this is a family, not a business; when it comes to this.

That's where I'm at with this. Football is a business, yes, but someones health is heads above any silly game. Coach Kill deserves to be here and his job isn't in any sort of trouble. If anyone fires Coach Kill, it will be Coach Kill.

My thoughts and prayers are with Coach Kill and I wish him the very best.
